After Scheduling
A member of our team will reach out to you by phone shortly after scheduling with your dentist's office. We will review your health history and provide you with an estimate for our fees. Our office will collect any needed medical documentation from your physician if required.
Day Before Appointment
The anesthesiologist will call you directly the day before your appointment to answer any remaining questions and review critical pre-op instructions.
Day of Appointment
Prior to beginning treatment, you will have the opportunity to speak with your anesthesiologist as they complete their pre-operative assessment.
Detailed post-operative instructions will be reviewed at the end of your appointment. For adult patients, it is essential that another trusted adult is with you during this time to receive these instructions.
Billing and Fees
Our fees are determined by the duration of treatment. We will provide you with an estimate which is based on the proposed treatment from your dentist.
We require a deposit (first hour of treatment) at the time of scheduling. The anesthesia balance will will be collected after your appointment, once the final treatment time is known.
Finance and Insurance
Midwest Office Anesthesia does not participate with any insurance plans.
Please contact your insurance provider directly to inquire about reimbursement.
Scheduling
We ask that scheduling be coordinated through your dentist's office. If you are interested in receiving sedation for your dental appointment, please ask your dentist's office to contact us directly for more information and scheduling details. We will work with your dentist's office to accommodate your scheduling needs.

Yes! Your safety is our highest priority. Modern day anesthesia is incredibly safe when administered by a trained anesthesiologist. It is very important you disclose any medical conditions you are diagnosed with and recent illness to help make your appointment as stress free as possible.

For pediatric patients and patients with special needs, a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign consent.
For adult patients, you MUST be accompanied by another adult over the age of 18 who will escort you home safely. You must not drive for at least 24 hours after anesthesia.

Ensuring patients have an empty stomach during anesthesia is absolutely paramount for safety. If stomach contents were to be regurgitated and enter a patient's lungs, severe pulmonary damage can result. We follow national guidlines as determined by the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
1. No food within 8 hours of your appointment
2. Clear (non-carbonated) fluids may be consumed until 2 hours before your appointment (water, apple juice, BLACK coffee, sports drink, tea)
